Some PNC customers have reported a recent scam by fraudsters sending text messages that appear to be official PNC communications. This is an attempt to steal your personal and financial information. Be wary of unexpected text messages, even those that appear to come from PNC, asking you to follow links and/or provide personal information.
While PNC may occasionally ask you to reply to a text message, we will never ask you to click a link from a text.
If you suspect you’ve received a fraudulent text message that appears to be from PNC, take a screen shot of the text message on your mobile phone and forward it to PNC Abuse (firstname.lastname@example.org).
If you are a PNC customer and you believe you may have responded to a fraudulent text, email or phone call and disclosed personal information, immediately change your PNC password, then contact PNC Bank's Online Banking Team at 1-800-762-2035.
Warning signs and additional information about what to do if you receive a suspicious email or text message are posted on the PNC Update Center.
